Here’s What’s Happening at Innisdale

Art-Struck-Web-GraphicWe are very excited to announce the third annual ARTstruck Gala at Innisdale Secondary School in Barrie. This event benefits both the Innisdale Visual Arts Department and the Barrie Women and Children’s Shelter. ARTstruck began as a small fundraiser three years ago to provide artists with the opportunity to showcase their skills while also helping others through community outreach. The success of the gala has grown quickly. Last year we were able to donate $1000 to the Shelter and we hope to raise even more this year. The artworks themselves come from senior art students, teachers, ISS arts alumni, and community artists.

Not sure how the event works? Gala goers buy a $20 ticket and arrive at ISS Great Hall on Thursday November 26th at 6:15 pm. They then have 45 minutes to enjoy refreshments, hear live music, peruse the artworks and make a “favourites” list. At 7:00pm we will begin to call out ticket numbers. When a ticket-holder’s number is called they have 30 seconds to choose a work of art from the wall to take home. That’s right, for $20 you are guaranteed an original work of art!

New this year! Selected works will go up for silent auction.

Purchase tickets at lunch in the Great Hall starting Monday November 16th, OR buy online (go to and follow the links to “school cash online”). Last year we sold out early so don’t miss out.  Only 100 tickets will be sold!
